We will pick you up at your hotel in Ha Noi for departure for Cuc Phuong National Park to the Southwest of Ha Noi. It takes approximately 2.5 hours (110 kilometers) to get to Cuc Phuong National Park (officially opened in 1960 as the first national park in Vietnam). Located on 2 limestone mountain ranges, the landscape of Cuc Phuong contains a wonderfully rich ecosystem. Covered in a dense forest, this landscape forms the habitat for some of Asia's rarest animal and plant species. We will first visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, established in 1993 and is a project of Frankfurt Zoological Society. It's a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding and conservation of endangered primates as well as protection of their habitats. After lunch, we will continue further into the Park Center. On the way, we will visit the Cave of Early Man, an amazing historic find, dating back over 7000 years. Next, we will take a long trek through the forest to learn about the diverse plant and wildlife of the park. We will also make stops at Cho Chi - the oldest tree in the forest and visit the picturesque streams and waterfalls along the way. What to bring: Boots/sport shoes, camera, hat and insect repellent.
