Itinerary

Tour Itinerary

We will embark on a 30-minute boat ride to Kim Bong Carpentry Village, a traditional craft village in Hoi An established in the 15th century by artisans from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.

Upon arrival, you will explore the shipbuilding area, where wooden fishing vessels are constructed using traditional techniques. You will also visit a carpentry workshop to witness craftsmen creating handcrafted furniture and intricate sculptures.

Next, we will continue our journey with another boat ride to Thanh Ha Pottery Village, where you can observe villagers making pottery products such as vases, pots, and kettles. Thanh Ha Pottery Village boasts over 500 years of history, tracing its roots back to its establishment.

We will then visit the Thanh Ha Terra Cotta Park Museum, where a series of remarkable sculptures and architectural replicas come to life. Here, you will see stunning clay models of iconic landmarks, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy), Taj Mahal (India), Sydney Opera House (Australia), the White House (USA), the Pyramid (Egypt), and Notre Dame (France), all crafted by local artisans.

Finally, we will conclude the tour by visiting a local lantern craftsman to learn about the traditional art of lantern making.

Great Excursion from Hoi An

Thanh Ha was a remarkable experience. A short cab ride for Hoi An, the village contains many pottery studios. I highly recommend Son Thuy, in the far corner of the village ... very artistic work with hand painted items. The museum is well worth a stop, with amazing work on display. And, take advantage of the opportunity to make a pot on a potters wheel. Small admission to enter the village and visit the museum, both well worth it.

We are seeing pottery making in INDIA since early childhood. But prepared items were good. Myself tried & made a item. Difficult to buy due to weight restrictions in flight

A unique adventure in Hoi An!

We loved wandering through the charming streets lined with colorful pottery. The artisans were incredibly welcoming, sharing their craft with us. We even tried our hands at making our own pots—what a fun challenge!

Friendly tour with locals. Very helpful tour guide. The Terracotta models of famous global monuments is the only thing which we liked here. These monuments are placed in open air. The museum was nothing great. The entire place is good for half an hour visit.

We were fortunate to have Emily as our guide for the afternoon visiting the carpentry and pottery village(s). She was excellent! Good English skills and a knowledgeable young lady. Was a very interesting day and were pleased we were able to get a glimpse into how some lived and worked in Vietnam.
