Sukhothai

Sukhothai is an ancient city located in central Thailand. It is considered the first capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom, an independent kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries. Sukhothai is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for its breathtaking landscape and remarkable historical and cultural heritage.

The ancient city of Sukhothai is renowned for its beautiful architectural landmarks such as Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Sawai, and Wat Si Chum. These structures exemplify the architectural style of the Sukhothai Kingdom and hold deep religious significance. Additionally, Sukhothai is known for the Loy Krathong festival, a traditional Thai festival held annually in November, where people light candles and release lanterns onto the water to seek good fortune and ward off bad luck.
