A tour that takes you on a journey of discovery through captivating Cat Ba Island; from trekking through the lush trails of Cat Ba National Park to exploring historic caves and of course, some beach-time on a stunning beach.
Take a ferry at Tuan Chau Island to depart for Cat Ba Island. Cat Ba is part of a chain of 366 islands that lie within the larger area of Ha Long Bay, recognized by UNESCO as Archipelago Biosphere Reserve in Apr 2005. Upon arrival, we go to the center of the Cat Ba National Park with a hike up the mountain. The trails here lead you to Kim Giao Forest, filled with a rare precious kind of wood that was recorded in Vietnam’s “Red List” because of its ability to detect toxins. Next, we will climb to the top of Ngu Lam. From the summit you can enjoy the extensive panoramic view of Cat Ba with hundreds of mountains. We will continue our hike to the town of Cat Ba with stops along the way to take advantage of photo opportunities en route; we will also visit the Quan Y Cave. This is a natural cave but during the period of resistance from 1960 to 1965 it was used as a war hospital. The cave has 3 floors full of rooms used to aid the sick and injured during the war. We will arrive in Cat Ba town and have time to relax on the beach.
