Spend a rewarding day in the countryside surrounding Hoi An, visiting villages and trying your handiness in some activities with locals in rural area, including; making rice wine, rice noodles, and learning traditional fishing techniques.
We will start the journey with a discovery of the countryside, we will travel by bicycle down the green, quiet roads. Take notice of the green bamboo, areca and tea plants surrounding the paths as you ride along. The tour guide will give you some interesting information about the local plants, herbs and vegetables when visiting an organic vegetable garden where farmers use the seaweed as natural fertiliser instead of chemicals and spray their vegetables with natural products such as ginger, chili and garlic instead of chemical pesticides. Then, we will stop to meet a local family who will show you how to make colorful sleeping mats, rice noodles. We then visit Kim Bong Carpentry Village, founded in the XVII century, a traditional handicraft village famous not only in Hoi An, Quang Nam but also in the whole Central of Vietnam. We then head to an organic farm then fishing village. During your time there, you can also try to row a traditional bamboo boat. Bamboo boat is a popular means of transport on water in Vietnam. These boats are made of bamboo and very easy to move on water. We will have Quang noodles in Cam Kim then take a boat trip back to Hoi An.
