Mondolkiri

Mondulkiri: a nature lover’s paradise; exotic wildlife & tribal minority groups

Mondulkiri, meaning ‘meeting of the hills’, is a nature lover’s paradise where forests, hills and valleys are teeming with all sorts of wild animals including, elephants, leopards, bears, birds, monkeys and pigs. Eighty percent of this sparsely populated province is made up of 10 tribal minority groups, of which the Bunong people are the most numerous. The Bunong have a close relationship with elephants and one of the most popular tourist activities here is trekking to a traditional village and seeing elephants in their natural habitat.

Mondulkiri is also home to coffee plantations and some powerful waterfalls, the largest and most impressive being Bou Sra, which is well worth a visit.
